![]() ![]() I've tried restoring the notes unsuccessfully after:Īfter deleting everything associated with the Notes application (starting from scratch)Ĭan anyone help me make sense of the crash report (attached below)? I believe either NoteStore.sqlite or NoteStore.sqlite-wal is corrupted. When I open Notes again I see my old notes for a few seconds, and then the application crashes giving me the attached report and replacing the 2 old files with 3 blank ones (NoteStore.sqlite, NoteStore.sqlite-shm, NoteStore.sqlite-wal). When I try to restore my old notes by dropping these 2 old files back into "~/Library/Group Containers/", replacing the new files created, it doesn't work. I found the files for my old notes under "~/Library/Group Containers//Backups": I don't sync with iCloud, but rather I use "On My Mac" notes and manually sync the "~/Library/Group Containers/" data folder with Google Backup & Sync. This morning I opened my Notes application and it was blank. Notes Disappeared: Backup Files Crashing Notes Hi Apple Community! Since I need the individual notes with the pdfs or scans I cannot simply delete them.Īpple Support also ran out of ideas what to try.ĭoes someone of you have an idea or could solve the same problem somehow? tried to copy and paste some notes with scans or pdfs into new notes -> no change / lag still present.moved "NotesContent" in Library so it was recreated -> no change / lag still present.started OS in safe mode -> no change / lag still present.restored a backup within a new user profile -> no change / lag still present.re-installed ventura -> no change / lag still present.used notes app with a test user on the same mac -> app appeared to be ok.There are a lot of notes in my notes app and the lag occurs when I am scrolling through or editing notes with multiple PDFs or scans attached to the notes. I am not experiencing it on an iPad or iPhone. This actually renders the Notes app unusable. ![]() ![]() Since the update to MacOs Ventura I am experiencing a huge lag when I try to use the Notes App on my M1 MBP. ![]()
